Swedish Co+Hogh Advertising Solutions, in collaboration with South African Big Sky Productions Servicing, have produced a banging hit commercial for the latest product launch for 3 Broadband Denmark. The commercial takes its filmic elements from a well loved 80’s flick “Top Gun”. With the help of the soundtrack and the filmic style of an extremely long lens we managed to produce a comical piece for 3 Broadband, bringing the Co+Hogh concept of “Taking Your Broadband with You (and your Family) Anywhere” to life.

This commercial was shot on full HD format using the “Red One” HD Digital Camera from Red One Africa, with Panavision film lenses.The Red One creates for us a simple shoot- and post-production workflow, and in addition to the seamless graphic compositing done abroad, the authentic costuming, the awesome Capetonian locations and superb strength of our reliable crew, surely added to the success of this film.

This is the first of many posts whereby Bigsky Productions Highlights its Location of the week. Our first Cape Town Location is an unlikely one as its not glamorous nor is it chic. “The Broken Swimming Pool” as we like to call it is more Grunge then anything else. It is Kinda Dogtown and Z Boyz. We just need to pump out a few litres of water and the Boyz will be up and riding. 

Bigsky Productions Cape Town in conjunction with Swedish Director/Producer Team of Director Daniel Eskils (freshly signed to Partizan) and Producer Johan Junker of “Eskils Junker” completed an edgy viral ad campaign out of award winning agency Kessels Kramer - Amsterdam for Protest Boardwear.

The renowned strength of the Bigsky team, coupled with the wild creative spirit of Eskils Junker produced an inspiring piece of filmmaking on just a shoe-string budget. With Swedish DOP Erik Sohlstrom at the helm of the sought after Red One camera, the quality of the full HD image is awesome.

Zest Magazine traveled to Kenya with Bigsky Productions for a full 2 weeks of Fashion and Beauty Stories. Models were flown in from Barcelona, Amsterdam and London. Photographer Verster Cohen shot all the beauty fashion and cover editorials, art directed by Kelly Flood, Fashion Stylist Kelly Moseley, Beauty Editor Alexandra Friend, Hair & Make Up Sheila Carton, Photo Assistants Yono Baraki and Ernst Heusser.

Kenya is a very affordable and desireable shoot destination, with beautiful white beaches, tropical overhanging palm trees and clear blue waters. Safari style locations are similarly abundant.

The Daily Mirror Newspaper shot their editorial content with Bigsky Productions in Cape Town, have a look at some of their stories. Above Kimberlea from Zero Models poses for the Lace story. The Fashion Writers stayed in the Mount Nelson Hotel which was a pleasure to work from and the Hotel was very accommodationg when it came to shooting on the Hotel grounds.

LINGERIE WITH GRACE

The Lingerie story was photographed in the Charlize Theron Suite at the Mount Nelson. Gorgeous Grace from Y models was in front of the Camera. Robyn Nissen was on Hair and Make Up. Photographer Verster - Cohen.

WIOLA

The Sequin story was shot in the Bigsky Studio. Free Studio space is part of our service to clients that decide to use us as a production house. Local photographer Verster-Cohen photographed Wiola and Jacqui Lupton was on Hair and Make Up for this particular story.

RED TEE MAGAZINE

Swedish Magazine RedTee, did a week of editorials in Cape Town. They did a wide range of locations from Beach, Golf Course to Safari. Safari was shot at Aquilla Reserve which is a mere 2hr drive from Cape Town. Location diversity is a real bonus for clients shooting in South Africa and Cape Town. Two completely different locations are achieveable in one day which bodes well for productivity and shrinking shoot budgets.

AQUILLA SAFARI

Some of the International Crew that were part of the shoot were, Lars Trangquis (photographer), Joanna Swanson (Art Director), Bonnie Gijer (Client) Katerina (Stylist) and local Hair and Make Up artist Daleen Stewart.

London Photographer David Handley shot the Collezione Kids editorial with Bigsky Productions. The shoot took place on the stunning beach location of Llundudno under backlit late afternoon conditions. Monique Tacon did Hair and Make Up and Rob Parker was David’s right hand man when it came to lighting and camera assistance. Jet Vervest flew in from Amsterdam to Style and Art Direct and was instrumental in the success of the shoot.
